Full Job Description
Absolute Recruitment are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join one of their well-known Logistics clients based in Middlewich.

Responsibilities –

Management of all process providing efficient and effective planning for all customer deliveries.

1. Assist to create daily delivery plans ensuring routing is efficient and plans are achievable in line with all transport legislation and customer SLA’s.

2. Assist customers by ensuring all deliveries are booked in following any special instructions.

3. Minimize empty running ensuring you optimize your network to achieve maximum fleet utilization.

4. Plan driver resource ensuring holidays and sickness are covered working with driver support agencies & working to ensure compliance.

5. Ensure all relevant documentation and communications are complete.

6. Provide route / delivery manifests in a timely fashion ensuring the Warehouse achieve out-loading times.

7. Ensure manifests are always in run order with all relevant delivery information.

8. Maintain open dialogue with internal departments to co-ordinate customer responses and to improve performance and productivity

9. Manage co-ordinate and administer delivery and collection instructions to transport partners. Includes working directly with 3rd party contractors and arranging transport where required.

Experience needed –

Proven track record of efficient planning within the UK for Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles
Experience of planning software, TomTom systems, Microsoft systems
Good communication skills between drivers and Customers
Understanding of Driver Regulations and HGV compliance
Minimum National CPC preferred however not essential
Excellent focus on Customer Service skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong team ethic and willingness to involve in cross functional teams
Ability to work independently

Working hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm
