HGV Class 2 Driver

Sure Logistics Northampton are currently seeking an experienced HGV class 2, cat C driver for our client based in Corby on a temporary to permanent assignment.

Role:
Your day will begin at 06:30 of you are FLT qualified OR 07:30 if not, your shift will be c.10-11 hours
You will drive a class 2 DAF vehicle, delivering general haulage into DCs, building sites or stores. No day will be the same
Your average week will be around 48 hours. Customers typically close around 17:00 so timing is crucial
Your route will always be Wellingborough and the local areas, this is a multidrop role and you will be making on average 16-17 deliveries per day. There will be collections in the local areas also
No handball – tail lift and FLT

Candidate:
As these are timed deliveries, you will be expected to be prompt and not delay your deliveries. A good knowledge of Wellingborough industrial estates and its surrounding neighbours would be ideal
You will be an honest, communicative individual with integrity and have the initiative to report back to base if there are any delays on site
Experience of general haulage and palletised deliveries preferable, but not essential
Must be smartly presented as this is customer facing, a good command of English is also required for this role
Will need to hold a cat C driving licence for 2 years or more, with no more than 6 points and be over the age of 25 for insurance purposes

Further details:
12 weeks temporary contract with Sure Logistics paid at £10 per hour PAYE
To be deployed by the haulage company as a direct employee of their business, to be paid on their payroll
Once permanent, you will be allocated 20 days annual leave plus your statutory bank holidays
Quarterly bonus of £200 given to any employee who does not call in sick during said period
If scheduled to work on a Saturday, your hourly pay will be £11.55 per hour PAYE and if you’re working on the UPN contract, you’ll receive a further £25 per shift
You will not be paid for your 45-minute break via the agency nor the haulage company, your salary will therefore be c.£23000 per annum plus bonuses and overtime
