PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a hard working individual, who is able to work as part of a team or on my own. In my time as a manager I was able to lead by example, never afraid to get stuck into any task given to me; I am an inventive problem solver who takes pride in his work. During my career I have turned my hand to several roles, never afraid of trying something new, I believe this is due to my military training which has also helped me develop a keen eye for attention to detail and strong organisational skills. I have an excellent sickness record having only missed 2 days in the past 14 yrs.

In my role as branch Transport Planner I am jointly responsible for the planning of up to 45 trips per day on 30 Vehicle’s. These vary in size from 44t Articulated Trucks down to a curtain sided sprinter, including Moffett Trucks and Flat beds.
In addition to this I have to deal with the day to day issues that arise in a busy Transport environment from the sales teams, warehouse and drivers including same day deliveries due to missed or short deliveries, rerouting of vehicles to accommodate collections or customer requirements and providing sales and drivers with information in order to ensure the smooth operation of the business.

In my role as Transport Planner I am responsible for coordinating same and next day deliveries to a variety of customers out of our 3 Branches utilizing a fleet of 5 HIAB wagons and 2 vans with 5 drivers. In addition to this I have to liaise with the yard foreman and other Branch Managers to ensure that each Branch has adequate stock on the ground to supply customer collections with out being over stocked and Transfer goods between Branches to provide a first class service to our customer’s.
In addition to this I control the maintenance schedule of the fleet liaising with the garage to ensure all vehicles are serviced in accordance to the schedule and defects are rectified in a timely manor.
I also complete Start and End of Day briefings with the drivers ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and any Tachograph infringements are fully explained to the drivers. I am also responsible for on going driver assessments and training.

During my time as a driver, my duties were delivering goods to large commercial building sites and small private homes. Driving a 32 tonne rigid vehicle and using a moffett (vehicle mounted forklift truck). In September 2007 I was promoted to Transport Manager.
As my role as Branch Transport Manager I was responsible for managing up to 13 drivers, daily routing of vehicles, dealing with breakdowns and defects, planning servicing schedules, ensuring compliance with VOSA regulations and liaising with the warehouse Supervisors and Sales Teams.
