I am fully experienced in class 1 Driving and am also fully experienced and qualified in manufacturing at the Nissan car plant in Sunderland. I have worked in a team on a moving line for the last 10 years. Communication skills, leadership and an ability to think on my feet are required. Over the last 5 years I have been required to identify, support and train new line members in both basic and more advanced engineering skills associated in the “most productive car line in Europe”. This is a stressful and hard job with a turnover of a car every sixty seconds and I have worked on 2 separate “trim lines” due to my ability to adapt.
I was also a fully qualified and experienced Army Air Door Gunner. I have 480 hours flying in a Lynx helicopter and have worked with Army Intelligence, Special Air Service and VIPs’ including HRH Princess Anne. I was also a fully qualified HelicopterRefueller, Team Medic gaining RMA (level 11) and Helibourne Surveillance Systems Operator and have operated in various theatres’. I have gained experience supporting non combatants in understanding basic Helicopter safety drills.

Over the last ten years I have worked at the Nissan car plant as part of a team on a moving line assembling Nissan badge vehicles.
As a senior member of the team I supported all new staff, developed methodologies at my work station (shift changes). The job itself was very hard and repetitive building a car every sixty seconds, eight hours a day. I also helped in the training of new employees and in line trials(New Starters).I worked in a team that was target driven, achieving accolades for ability and drive, with our team being identified as “the ideal zone” within Nissan (this has resulted in our methodologies being replicated throughout the Line within Nissan) and filled with enthusiasm.

I also qualified as a team medic (RMA 11) and surveillance operator (Hellibourne) which were put to use whilst I served in Bosnia (Casualty Evacuation) and in Northern Ireland (Casualty Evacuation and surveillance).Whilst I served in Ireland I also helped in the training of new RUC officers on aircraft safety drills.
As a part of my role it was my responsibility to assist in any re-fuels and movement of stores which were done on a daily basis. This involved managing ground liaison teams and in flight operatives

Counter activity meant I had to deal with a multitude of personality types and as a community centre exercise empathy, give advice and manage my time accordingly remembering that customers = profit opportunities!
