• Responsibility for the day to day management and logistics of a transport and distribution operation,
ensuring the provision of excellent standards of customer service, fleet efficiency and co-ordination and staff performance:
• Monitor and manage manning levels to cover each shift dependent upon forecast volumes and client adhoc
requests over three shifts /24hrs.
• Liaise with new clients to ensure that both their and our expectations match.
• Check and amend established routes to take account of traffic conditions and liaise with depot managers to advise and discuss these changes.
• Ensure that both drivers and supervisory staff comply with all aspects of tachograph legislation,
• Ensure own staff achieve all aspects of performance standards through direct coaching, taking disciplinary action if necessary, to ensure those standards are maintained.
• Conduct group and one to one staff briefings.
• Complete, monitor and escalate all accident reports to both internal colleagues and external contractors, complete any investigations, and implement any findings
• Generate and distribute at agreed intervals management reports and key performance indicators.
