Collecting temperature sensitive foodstuff loads from production facilities and transporting to any number of National Distribution Centres across the UK. Monitoring any temperature deviations along route, adjusting if needed to keep within parameters required.
Relief Charge-Hand duties ensuring the smooth running of a busy night time operation of a Regional Distribution Centre, Duties include overseeing the loading of 25 rigid 20-30 ton vehicles and up to 12 articulated single deck and double deck trailers, ensuring temperatures are monitored and recorded within company specific legal documents, supporting warehouse manager and loading marshals with any queries, briefing and working alongside yard shunters to ensure optimum productivity at all times. Dealing with all manner of fridge or vehicle breakdowns, consulting with outsourced workshop contractors, arranging for vehicles to be delivered and or collected following repair / service / plating, transhipping, cross docking loads where required to get load and vehicles departing on time to meet customer delivery (window) slots and Distribution Centre kpi’s. Sourcing agency drivers at very short notice due to sickness or during peak trading periods. Assist drivers with any queries on delivery points. Conduct new driver induction and assessments, Liaising with super hub depots on any number of operational issues. Communicating and cascading end of shift handover information to senior managers on any ongoing operational matters.

Collecting temperature sensitive foodstuffs from production facilities delivering to National Distribution Centres across the UK for major supermarkets. Collecting reload consumables to deliver back to production facilities, ensuring truck and trailer are kept clean and tidy to further enhance company and corporate image.
Relief yard shunting duties included docking empty trailers on to 1 of 6 locations, main outbound chilled warehouse loading bays or 1 of 5 production facilities on a very large site. Liaising with traffic and warehouse offices, allocating bays for inward bound loads from 3rd party hauliers, ensuring safe movement of vehicles on site, between 30 and 40 trailers shunted for loading. Assisting and recovering accident damaged loads, taking and collecting vehicles to workshops for repairs / service / plating.
