Up to 18 trailers can be received in any one shift so any detraction from 6 schedule has to monitored and reported to all those affected. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I recently received a qualification rate in CPC Transport Management, having completed the course in November 2016. My previous role as Warehouse Manager at Solk gave me responsibility for not only overseeing the whole warehouse operation but also for the scheduling of transport nationwide on a daily basis. Ensuring that lead times were adhered to in line with customer requirements and balancing this with the rules governing drivers hours and the working time directive. From the point an order was received it was my overall responsibility to make sure my team delivered on time with the highest level of professionalism and customer service. Having such a vast range of products and a variety of options per products available to a customer, monitoring of stock was part of a daily routine. Keeping a watchful eye on all aspects of the supply chain and components required to complete a product and thus an order. Ensuring sufficient resources were available to achieve tight deadlines whilst balancing the budgets available against the timescales given and the skillset required. There was always the option to take on temporary staff and additional transport as required, but I always endeavoured to deliver with the staff available .Quite a task in itself as I saw the staff levels reduce by fifty percent in my 6 years there, but with careful planning and high organisational skills it was achievable. The personal sense of achievement you felt when projects came together was reward in itself. Knowing that you’d not only met (and quite often exceeded) projected delivery targets was the icing on the cake. Being very much a reactionary role you had to being instantly adaptable to whatever challenges came your way. I operated at my best under pressure and always worked on the proviso that it’s not a problem, just a situation requiring a solution.
