Thank you for taking the time to read my application, cover letter and CV.

I have seen the job advertised for HGV Class 2 driver which I am extremely interested in applying for.

I passed my Class 2 and Class 1 Licence in August 2019 but with the current situation I have been waiting for the right time to apply for class 2 or class 1 jobs.

I have recently moved to the Dartford area and am currently working as a bus driver at Arriva Dartford (previously working for Arriva in north London). I have been working as a bus driver for just over 5 years now and feel I am ready to further progress and transfer my skills in the transport industry.

I would like to work towards predominantly class 1 work within your sector. However, I would welcome the opportunity to undertake class 2 work in order to gain experience as a HGV Driver with a wider range of the transport vehicles you use. At present I have not had the opportunity to work driving class 1 and 2 vehicles but feel that my extensive experience of driving double decker buses within London will support my move into this industry.

During my normal working day, I carry out safety checks on all vehicles I will be driving to ensure they are road worthy. I always drive the vehicles safely, never endangering other road users or the public. I am always polite and courteous to all the customers.

I have an exemplary punctuality and attendance record. I am hard working and eager to learn new skills. I feel my existing skills and experience and passion to develop would prove me to be an asset for your company.
