The Rates eTrading D2C team partners with several Rates and Rates-related EM businesses to design, build and maintain solutions for electronic trading on client markets. We are mostly based in London and NYC but also maintain a presence in Japan and India, and our businesses span the globe. We cover several functional domains including fair value pricing, market pricing, contribution, execution, and STP, and manage the entire software development lifecycle. As such, we are a diverse group of project managers, business analysts, and developers (front-end and back-end). Our systems facilitate the trading of many products, the majority of which are securities and derivatives.
We are currently looking for a mid-level to senior developer in London to work on several projects affecting the EMEA businesses: euro govies, gilts, EUR swaps, etc. Several of these project aim to transform our platform, touching everything from pricing to STP, from the front-end to the back-end.
The ideal candidate will have strong business knowledge and experience working within technology at an investment firm. An in-depth understanding of all topics is not required but the candidate should be able to develop ideas with both the stakeholders and the team.
Strong problem solving is a must. The candidate must be able to understand, reduce, decompose and solve complex problems. The interview process will require the candidate to demonstrate problem solving skills.
Strong leadership is a must. The candidate must be able to identify and resolve issues, and guide a group of developers to get their deliveries done well and done on time.Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and test software following standard software development processes
Decompose problems into solvable pieces and propose complete solutions
Lead (develop, motivate and manage) small to medium sized groups of developers
Support BAs, PMs and management as technical SME
Define and address non-functional requirements
Identify technical problems to address or improvements to make
Work with PMs and management to plan and execute projects
Actively seek out and resolve blocking issues: resourcing issues, conflicts within team, conflicting interests, lack of clarity, external dependencies, etc.
Ensure all phases of software development lifecycle are followed

Required – Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
Euro govies, gilts or EUR swaps businesses

TIBCO RV, LBM, JMS or other messaging middleware
KDB+ or other tick databases
