Lloyds Banking Group’s Commercial Banking division supports over 300,000 business clients with a turnover above £1m p.a. Through a relationship banking based approach, we support clients through the provision of core banking products, such as lending, deposits and transaction banking services, as well as an extensive financial markets presence.
Within Commercial Banking, the Markets Operations & Trade Services teams provide specialist operational post trade support, trade lifecycle management, settlement and control.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Treasury and Balance sheet Operations team to work flexibly, develop personally and professionally and work collaboratively with an ambitious team to support its stakeholders across the group, bringing to life the Group’s vision of Helping Britain Prosper and being the Best Bank for Clients.
As an Investigation and Insight Senior Analyst, you’ll:
• Manage LBG’s Cash positions totalling in excess of 40 billion GBP equivalent each day.
• Extract and provide accurate positions across 48 different currencies.
• Detect and investigate cash events (prioritising by risk and value) and undertake root cause and trend analysis
• Be a central point of contact between the Commercial Banking Markets, Group Corporate Treasury and internal support functions
• Identify and support changes to systems, processes and working practices in order to achieve continuous operational improvements.
You’ll investigate, diagnose, resolve and assist in remediation diagnostics to reduce exception rates and forecast errors in relation to Cash Management on behalf of Group Corporate Treasury. You’ll have the opportunity to support our Front Office Trading teams and the products they trade. Spanning across various desks and products such as FX, MM, Rates and Repo this offers fantastic development prospects. Alongside supporting the Trading Desks we provide support and guidance across multiple teams across Market Operations and Global Payments. The team takes pride in providing excellent client service so you’ll need proven stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
You’ll need:
• Good stakeholder and communication skills to liaise with other LBG colleagues and teams as well as with external clients, showing professionalism and a client first attitude at all times.
• Good knowledge of cash management and liquidity management
• An appreciation and awareness of the internal risk and control framework, policies and procedures including audit and SOX requirements.
• High degree of accuracy and a willingness to learn new products is essential.
• Ability to multi task and prioritise daily workflow within tight deadlines.
• Aptitude and desire to learn and develop at pace attaining the necessary qualifications and skill sets
Previous experience of working with the Financial Markets Products is not a pre-requisite for this role but you would be would be expected to achieve competency and commit to completing the ACI qualifications or similar: Operations Certificate and Model Code within 6 to 12 months of joining.
Core trading hours support the professional working day between 07:00 – 20:00, with the need to exhibit flexibility as the business changes.
