HGV Class 1 Fridge Trunk Drivers Wanted – Newark-on-Trent, NG24

Looking for a driving role that’s straightforward, well-paid, and doesn’t involve endless stress or unnecessary complications? We’re recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for refrigerated trunking work based in Newark-on-Trent.

This is a solid, no-nonsense trunking role: steady runs, minimal drops, and no handball. Just driving, delivering, and getting on with your day.

What the job involves

You’ll be carrying out refrigerated (fridge) trunking runs between distribution depots. On a typical shift, you’ll complete 1–2 trunking deliveries, keeping goods moving efficiently through the supply chain.

There’s no handball involved, so you won’t be unloading cages or pallets at the delivery points. Your focus is on safe driving, timely deliveries, and making sure the trailer arrives exactly as it left.

You’ll be expected to:

Complete trunking runs between depots in a timely and professional manner
Carry out basic vehicle checks before and after shifts
Ensure refrigerated loads are transported correctly and temperature compliance is maintained
Follow planned routes and communicate clearly if anything changes on the road
Represent the company professionally when arriving at depots
It’s mainly motorway driving with straightforward drop-offs, so it suits drivers who prefer consistent work without constant stops or physical unloading.

Minimum 1 year HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
No more than 6 penalty points (minor offences only)
