Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver and Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong driving background, experience with commercial vehicles, and familiarity with plant operations. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient plant management.

Core Responsibilities

Driving Class 2 HGV: Safely transporting heavy plant machinery (diggers, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers) and materials to and from client sites.
Plant Operation: Operating plant equipment on-site, including specialist equipment like trenchless directional drills, moles, or lorry-mounted cranes (HIAB).
Loading/Securing: Safely loading, unloading, and securing machinery and equipment using beavertail trucks, ramps, and chains/straps.
Site Support: Assisting with on-site construction tasks, which may include trenching, reinstatement, or operating site-specific machinery.
Maintenance & Checks: Performing daily vehicle checks (water, oil, tyres) and basic maintenance on plant machinery to ensure safety and compliance.
Compliance & Admin: Adhering to tachograph regulations, maintaining accurate delivery records, and working in line with health and safety protocols.
Essential Requirements

License: Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
Certification: Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Digital Tachograph Card.
Experience: Proven experience in driving plant lorries, particularly low-loaders or beavertails, and operating construction plant.
Safety Focused: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications

CPCS or NPORS: Qualifications for operating specific plant (e.g., Telehandler, Dumper).
HIAB/Crane: Valid lorry loader certificate.
Knowledge: Experience with specific site technologies (e.g., trenchless drilling, utility installations). Training will be provided.
Common Working Conditions

Hours: Often Monday to Friday, with some early starts, weekends, or on-call rotations.
Travel: Nationwide travel may be required, sometimes with overnight stays in the truck.
Environment: A mix of driving and on-site, hands-on work
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £15.50-£21.75 per hour
