Full job description
Position: HGV Class 2 Driver/Drainage Engineer
Location: Stanley House, Rochester, ME2 4NF
Line Reporting Manager: Depot Manager
Hours: Monday – Friday 06:00am – 16:00pm 50hour week (with a lot of opportunities for overtime on the weekend and night work)
You are able to work 12 consecutive days and then you are legally required to have 48hours down time. We work on a 18/6 day. Meaning you can work 18hours a day with two mandatory hours unpaid break and then you have to have 6 hours downtime before returning back to work.
Salary: £12.60ph / £32,760 basic annually. Anything worked over 50hours is paid at time and a half £18.90hr.(The flat rate is standard due to the overtime achievable) (Annual salary reviews due to minimum/living wage. Length of service pay increases) Overtime to be covered after hours and weekends.
For example if you was to work 25 hours overtime per week on an average 4 week month you would take home an extra £1500 on top of your normal basic take home. (Plus the bonuses below if you are to do them)
£45 night work through bonus. Which means if you was to work through the night into the next day you would get the bonus on top off moneys for hours worked.
Call out bonus: You get put on a schedule for call outs. £30 for a weekday, £45 per a day on the weekend.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Be flexible in your approach to work and undertake ad-hoc duties when your vehicle is off the road or when assisting other field teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Operate specialist jetting tankers (Super Suction and Combination) following training (Class 2, CPC required)
Respond to emergency callouts for sewer blockages, flooding, and pollution
Work on private and public land in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift
Accurately document all jobs and maintain driver logbooks (MOT compliant)
Report defects, accidents, and near misses to the Line Manager
Ensure PPE is fit for purpose
Keep vehicle and equipment clean and tidy
Attend required training
Requirements
HGV Class 2 licence
Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and deal politely with the public
Comfortable working independently with remote instructions
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience in drainage, liquid waste, or environmental services
Street works or high-pressure water jetting experience

Drainage Engineer Responsibilities:
Understand and follow the company Health & Safety policy
Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example
Carry out all work safely in line with legislation, company procedures, and RAMS
Complete all required site documentation
Ensure VPRs and DRAs are completed and updated for every job
Report all health, safety, and environmental incidents to the Line Manager within 2 hours
