We are seeking to recruit a full time HGV/ADR Driver / Operator to represent the SFS team based at our depot in Rainham, initially on a six month contract.

Reporting to the SFS Operations Manager, the postholder is required to operate a fuel delivery tanker vehicle for which they are suitably qualified to undertake. As the duties of this post constitute those of a professional driver, all operation of Company vehicles must be Undertaken in a safe manner and fully compliant with all relative law and legislation. In addition, the postholder will undertake duties associated with that of a fuel delivery operative, primarily working on a specific contract refuelling trains. The post holder is contracted to work a 40 hour week, basic hours being 20:00 until 06:00 on a four on four off basis.

Key tasks and responsibilities associated with the role are as follows:

Operating Company vehicles including HGV & ADR class vehicles or any other vehicle for which the postholder is suitably qualified to operate and full responsibility for ensuring all vehicle checks is undertaken prior to commencing any works.
Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner.
Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified, and completing vehicle defect report in such circumstances.
Ensuring all ADR vehicles display appropriate placards during transportation and any time stationary and ensuring they are in possession of the correct written instruction document referring to the materials being transported. (TREM card).
Ensure all uplifting and offloading of product and materials is undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices, adhering to safe working practices and ensuring correct PPE worn for this task.
Refuelling trains overnight as per customer’s requirement.
Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to divisional supervision.
Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
Any other duties for which the postholder is qualified for and capable of undertaking.

Driver Requirements:

Applicants must possess relative licence categories to operate and control HGV/ADR including tanks, vehicles including rigid vehicles as well as previous knowledge and experience of tachograph regulations.

The successful applicants should demonstrate a flexible approach to work and a willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
