Jet Vac Operative – HGV II Class Driver

The job:

Serious Waste Management are leaders in waste management. We are looking to recruit HGV Class 1 and II drivers to join us in our Burton depot as a Jet-Vac Operative to provide services such as septic tank emptying, pumping station cleaning, sewage treatment plant desludging and grease trap emptying. The job will primarily be dealing with planned maintenance and unplanned emergency jobs.

About you:

Firstly you need to love working outdoors in all weather and you must be physically fit as the job involves some heavy lifting. Ideally you’ll have experience in using Jet-Vac equipment; although working within the waste water industry experience is not necessary as we will provide training to get you to the required standard to operate our custom built Jet-vac tankers.

We take our customer satisfaction seriously, so you will need to be polite, kind and respectful when dealing with customers and the general public and observe all health and safety requirements. Being flexible is essential too as you are required to cover a 50-hour working week which will involve a lot of early mornings. You will also be required to work on a 1 in 10 call out rota when you’ll be available to pick up work out of office hours.

You must be able to work on your own and as part of a team while supporting other operatives or engineers and you will need to be able to carry out daily and weekly maintenance checks on your vehicles and pumps to ensure all equipment is fully operational.

You’ll need a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence and should have a certificate of professional competence (CPC) to be considered for the role.
