CB Data Services is part of Commercial Banking (CB) and our mission is safely unlock the value of data for CB. We aim to drive a competitive advantage for our clients and the Bank by creating confidence in our data and enable impactful insights to improve the client experience.
We are responsible for the development and support of a wide range of data driven solutions such as the provision of regular management information (MI) reporting and business managed applications. We help teams within Commercial Banking to manage important processes and client-focused activity, as well as support colleague and business performance. Many of our solutions are considered by their owners to be key to helping them achieve their business goals. This position will involve working closely with colleagues in this high profile team to support and upgrade existing solutions as well as to develop new solutions to meet the changing needs of our stakeholders.
As an Application Developer, you’ll work closely with the business areas to define their requirements, produce prototype applications and reporting, and to test deliverables through to release.
It’s essential that you have comprehensive SQL and Access VBA programming skills combined with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel. You’ll also need experience in data migration, analysis and transformation using ETL and experience of using and developing SSIS packages.
Other technical skills that would be helpful are experience with C# ASP.Net, JQuery / JavaScript, HTML/CSS and MVC4.
In addition to having the right technical skills, the key to success in this position is a confident and energetic manner coupled with great attention to detail. It would be helpful to have an understanding of Financial Markets data and the main trading platforms that support the business. e.g. Summit and Murex.
As a manager of each development project, you’ll need to see the project through – starting with business analysis to help shape stakeholder requirements and ending with successful completion of your development. Along the way, you’ll need to be able to use and manipulate large amounts of data, work individually with minimal supervision but also engage collaboratively with stakeholders and with colleagues within the team
