Full job description
We are currently recruiting for dependable and experienced Class 1 HGV Tramping Drivers and Class 1 Day and night drivers to join our client’s transport operation based in Appleton. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity for drivers looking for consistent Monday to Friday work with excellent pay and steady routes.

The role involves nationwide trunking, with overnight stays in the vehicle throughout the working week. You’ll be responsible for ensuring timely and safe deliveries while maintaining vehicle condition and accurate records.

Days/Nights – General Haulage, curtainside or containers

Higher rates on Weekends and Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities

Undertake long-distance Class 1 deliveries and collections across the UK.
Tramp Monday to Friday, sleeping in the vehicle overnight.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects as necessary.
Complete all delivery documentation accurately and return it promptly.
Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding routes and delivery schedules.
Comply with all driving regulations, tachograph rules, and Working Time Directive.
Requirements

Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
Up-to-date CPC and digital tachograph card.
Minimum of 6 months’ Class 1 driving experience preferred.
No more than 6 penalty points on licence (no DD, DR, or IN endorsements).
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with overnight tramping.
