Full job description
HGV class 1 ADR Driver Required – to drive Artic curtainsiders, tanker and rigid curtainsiders on ADR and Non-ADR work for a busy waste management and recycling Company based in Darlington – DL1.

The majority of the work will be driving vehicles to and from customer sites, collecting and delivering waste for recovery /disposal,

All work is allocated on as ‘as needed ‘ basis so a degree of flexibility is required from all teams – Applicants must be comfortable with all aspects of driving /collecting hazardous and non-hazardous goods/wastes.

The key to our success is working with our customers to ensure a safe, effective and efficient service with the highest level of regard to H+S and environmental protection.

You will need to be an enthusiastic & energetic person – with a willingness to contribute to team and Company success- occasionally at short notice.

Previous ADR experience should mean you are familiar with loading/carrying and labelling hazardous substances – with the exception of radioactive and explosive materials.

Experience of waste legislation beneficial – particularly hazardous waste and duty of care paperwork.

Candidates must be willing to undertake /take part in:

– Occasional weekend work

– Occasional Bank Holiday work

– Emergency call out (also occasional and as required)

Salary

Your starting salary is £14.77 per hour subject to meeting all experience & qualification criteria.

Overtime after 40 hours is paid at time and a half, Sundays and Bank Holidays are paid at double time.

Night out allowance paid at £55 per night
