Personal statement
After successfully passing my C&E driver training along with my driver CPC at Go! Driving, Tockwith in August 2024, I have spent the past 3 months in bulk haulage at Thompsons of York, delivering animal feed to farms throughout the north east of England. This has been a steep learning curve, manoeuvring into plenty of tricky positions on farms and around the mill which has quickly improved my confidence. I am now looking for the right role a little closer to home.
Prior to starting my career as a HGV driver, I spent the previous year setting up my own bottleshop and taproom in Ripon. The business was highly successful in its first year and an offer was received by a local businessman which I accepted in August 2024.
My previous work experience involved 19 years in the construction industry working my way through from an apprentice joiner through to a senior site manager. I feel that this experience will stand me in good stead and has given me a good insight into the world of transport, haulage and logistics with many skills learnt being transferable.
