The Chief Data Office has a mandate set and actively supported at the board level to transform data management towards demonstrable shareholder value. The Data Network Architecture team has a firm wide remit to deliver a broad set of data management capabilities including the overall functional and technical vision for data governance.
Accountable for delivering a technical product for the manual capture of metadata that describes at a coarse grain JPMC’s lineage. The product forms a component of a suite of technical products that together with a cohesive operating model, aims to advance data governance capabilities at JPMC.
 
Responsibilities:  
       
Business case

Engage a stakeholder community to identify and understand the specific business benefits associated with data management transformation and in particular those that shape the need for manually captured, coarse grain lineage metadata.

Work with identified business opportunities and develop buy-in for the Manual Lineage service to support a close coupling of the FDM agenda with demonstrable business value

Own and drive the sequencing and prioritisation of delivery of features to best realise business value and build buy-inArchitecture

Vision:  Contribute to the functional vision for the set of capabilities required to further the objectives of Firm Data Management (FDM), and specifically those of the JPMC Group CDO, in particular for the manual lineage capabilities

Partner with FDM Technology to develop functional architecture and deliver solutions which implement defined manual lineage capabilities.

In partnership with FDM Technology, network across JPMC Technology to identify and understand contributing solutions.

FDM Logical Data Models:  Own logical data models for the Manual Lineage Capture service developed by FDM Technology.

FDM Operating Model: Partner with stakeholders and users to agree the operating model for the service, to ensure that these support compliance with FDM Policy & Standards and also meet business demand. 
Manual Lineage Delivery

Requirements & Program Oversight:  Define requirements, influence technology design, and partner with FDM Technology across infrastructure, database, and application development disciplines to deliver Manual lineage capture, for example:

Data Flows:  Delivery of a technical product enabling flows of data between applications to be described, leveraging utility components and standardised descriptions that form part of the overall suite of Data Manager capabilities

Processes & Controls: Design and delivery of a technical product that enables the manual capture of metadata to describe data producing and consuming processes and data controls

Partnership with other key design and development efforts across the D.N.A. team to contribute to and leverage other data management capabilities e.g. standardised taxonomies, lineage operationsQualifications:

Degree in computer science (or similarly technical discipline).

Significant related work experience, preferably in a product development/delivery environment

Outstanding verbal and written communications

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions

Motivated to work effectively in a high pressure work environment

Experience in Data Management, Data Strategy or Big Data a plus
