Are you an experienced Class 2 driver with a passion for delivering exceptional service? We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team at our Waste Treatment Plant in Cambridge operating our waste collection vehicles.
Attractive Working Hours & Salary
Monday to Friday – 45 hours per week
4.30 – 14.30
Competitive annual salary of £38,398.50
Site located at CB25 9PG
What is the purpose of this role?
Drive Large Goods Vehicles to collect and deliver waste or recycled products
To complete daily checks on vehicles, logging faults on a database system & reporting defects to Vehicle Workshop.
Emptying commercial bins on a scheduled route
Operate a variety of vehicles, perform vehicle checks and routine maintenance
Completing maintenance checks on various pieces of Plant Equipment., through a digital tablet Maintenance Management System & carrying out the work to which they are allocated to the required standards, including avoiding risks to the environment.
Working at all times in accordance with relevant risk assessments and safe working methods, taking into account site hazards on the day, and using the appropriate supplied safety clothing
Reporting of all incidents, close calls, any unsafe acts or unsafe situations seen on site to Line Manager
Comply with safe working methods and wear appropriate safety clothing
Represent a professional image to customers and other road users
The Ideal Candidate
Holds a full current and clean driving licence (essential)
Possesses an HGV Class 2 license (essential)
Demonstrates flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm for varying duties
Can follow instructions and adhere to safety policies and procedures
Works well as part of a team, showcasing positive team working skills
Has experience working outdoors in all weather conditions and maintaining high service levels
Can handle prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
