Four Vacancies have arisen for the posts of Roadworker 3 Semi-skilled / LGV Driver Operatives within Highways Direct Services. The successful applicant must hold a valid LGV / HGV licence together with a valid CPC card. Should ideally have experience in driving large vehicles with associated equipment such as salting gritter units and other lorry mounted equipment (hot-box, Hiab) etc. Also, a sound knowledge of Construction Works and Highway Maintenance works is preferred with some specific experience in these fields. such as, drainage systems, gullies and ironworks, fencing, tarmac, kerbing, slabbing and traffic management etc.

Be able to impart their experience within construction and highway maintenance to other staff to aid improvements of skill base. The successful applicant must be willing to respond to emergency situations both during and out of hours.

Must also be willing to participate in the emergency call out, and winter maintenance rotas.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.

Health Surveillance assessment through our Occupational Health Service is a requirement for this post.

Weekend Working, Standby Duties, Winter Maintenance and Emergency Response are a requirement of this post.
