Job Title: Class 1 Driver – Enclosed Car Transporter Operator

Location / Base: Southampton

Department: Woodside Motorfreight

Shift Pattern: Mon – Fri with Nights out

Job Summary:

Based at the Eastern Docks in Southampton (Dock Gate 20) you will be inspecting & transporting customer cars, mainly to private and business addresses, around the U.K. whilst meeting Company, customer and legal requirements.

You will also provide a first class customer handover experience. This will be completed using an enclosed car transporter specified to a high living standard. Good clean work with high profile customers within the car industry.

What’s on Offer:

Monday – Friday basic = £15.00 per hour for 50 hours (£750)

Monday – Friday overtime (after 50 hours) = £17.00 per hour

Weekend overtime (all hours worked) = £20.50 per hour

Also:

Overnight expenses £28 per night

Job Role and Responsibilities:

Safe, efficient and responsible driving of Company vehicle.

Presentation of vehicle to customer and completion of full handover including explanation of controls and features.

Delivery documents on electronic platforms using tablets or smart phones.

Essential Criteria:

Class 1 licence.

Full CPC training completed.

Well presented, professional individual with excellent communication and customer service skills Familiar with operating in-car infotainment systems and hand-held electronic devices including tablets & smart phones.

Minimum 6Months – 1 years driving experience

Full flexibility is required to fulfil the operational needs of the business including nights away when required.

Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience working within the automotive industry.

Training:

Full training on transporter equipment and all aspects of the role is provided on a one-on-one basis with one of our Driver Trainers.
