The Group Corporate Treasury Finance team are looking to recruit a Control Testing Manager to support the Treasury business that will work in a small team who will carry out business level control testing and partner with the business to understand and document the control environment. The role sits within the Business Unit Control Function team who are responsible for the first line delivery of robust operational risk and compliance monitoring and reporting.
The team work with a variety of finance and non-finance stakeholders and varying levels of seniority on a daily basis to provide risk and control assessments, coupled with operational risk support for strategic and tactical projects e.g. Ring-Fencing and partnering the other Group Corporate Treasury teams.
Through the provision of regular MI and analysis, you will be in a privileged position to understand the current Group and Corporate Treasury performance and the future direction of the Group’s balance sheet. The breadth that the role offers will equip you with a strong understanding of the Group whilst offering excellent transferrable skills.
You’ll play a pivotal role ensuring that the risk and control environment is understood, accurately documented, tested and continually evolving to drive the greatest impact. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with the wider team to drive operational risk and compliance insight to aid effective business decision making.
Your main responsibilities will be delivery of a comprehensive testing regime. Regular and ad-hoc business level impact assessments, and complete control analysis for the business and implementation of any required changes and monitor progress. Act as a risk business partner/liaison point within Group Corporate Treasury for first line risk queries, and deliver improvements as required for Ring-Fencing. You’ll produce monthly status updates, and will be expected to assist in the build and production of MI as required to the Risk Committee. You’ll build strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence the business through a deep understanding of operational risk, compliance and regulatory risk.
You will pride yourself on your attention to detail, your ability to challenge the business, produce high quality deliverables and will be comfortable working to evolving deadlines. You will be able to prioritise your workload and be a committed team player. Allied to this will be your Excel skills and you’ll need to be comfortable using Excel to manipulate, summarise and present data and developing the “so what” messages in executive summaries via Powerpoint to senior committees.
