Due to continued success and expansion, our busy workshop team is currently looking for a HGV Fitter / Van Mechanic with various levels of experience to join their workshop in Preston.

We are looking for a friendly, flexible & reliable Skilled Fitter who is able to work on their own initiative and will enjoy being part of a friendly and dedicated team . As a Skilled Fitter you would work in a busy Engineering workshop and your role would include maintaining and repairing the company’s vehicles to the strict standards set by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).

KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE

MOT PREPERATION ON VEHICLES AND TRAILERS

INSPECTION AND SERVICING OF FLEET TO A HIGH STANDARD AS PER MAINTANCE PLANNER

ENSURE ALL BREAKDOWNS ARE DEALT WITH ADHERING TO COMPANY POLICY

FOLLOW CORRECT HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES AT ALL TIMES

ENSURE ALL APPROPIATE PAPERWORK IS COMPLETED

KEY SKILLS

ABILITY TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS

POSSESS SOUND KNOWLEDGE OF HGV VEHICLES, VANS & TRAILERS

WORK TO HIGH STANDARDS AT ALL TIMES

POSSESS HGV CITY & GUILDS/NVQ LEVEL 3 OR EQUILIVANT

CLASS 1 LICENCE ADVANTAGE BUT NOT NECESSARY
